Cagliari have suffered yet another devastating anterior cruciate ligament injury, as left-back Riyad Idrissi is the latest to be ruled out for six months.<\/p>

The 20-year-old, who has three caps for Italy at Under-21 level, is a product of the Sardinian youth academy and had impressed this season with two goals and an assist in 26 competitive appearances.<\/p>

He featured in the 2-1 Serie A defeat to Como<\/a> over the weekend, and tests showed his injury was worse than previously thought.<\/p>

A club statement confirms<\/a> Idrissi has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.<\/p>

The player will go under the knife with a specialist over the next few days, but this type of injury generally requires four to six months on the sidelines.<\/p>
