Inter and Italy talent Francesco Pio Esposito has been linked with a move to Arsenal, but the Nerazzurri are unwilling to let the promising striker leave in the summer, offering him the ideal spotlight to shine.<\/p>

No doubt that 20-year-old Esposito is the most exciting centre-forward in Italy and a guaranteed starter for the national team in the coming years.<\/p>

A product of the Inter academy, Esposito returned to the Stadio Meazza after a two-season loan spell at Spezia last summer.<\/p>

During his time in Serie B,\u00a0Pio\u00a0<\/em>netted 22 times in 79 games, and he was quick to prove his worth at Inter last summer by scoring one goal in two Club World Cup appearances.<\/p>

This is his first full season at Inter, and despite his young age, he has already scored seven goals and recorded six assists in 37 appearances.<\/p>

He has already netted twice in the Champions League and contributed to a crucial 3-2 win over Juventus in February, by scoring the second goal for the Nerazzurri.<\/p>

Rumours of interest from England are not exactly surprising, as many Premier League clubs have been quick to spot and put under contract some of the brightest talents in Italy over the last few years.<\/p>

Sometimes, transfers worked well. Look to Sandro Tonali at Newcastle, for example. When the Italian left Milan, he was just 23, and he\u2019s gone on to impose himself as one of the best midfielders in the league, despite an initial betting ban.<\/p>

Riccardo Calafiori has also impressed at Arsenal<\/a> despite recurring injuries, and Liverpool paid \u20ac31m to sign 18-year-old Giovanni Leoni from Parma last summer despite his limited experience at a senior level.<\/p>

The promising Italian centre-back suffered a knee injury on his debut with the Reds in September, but his signature was proof that Premier League clubs no longer look only to established players in Italy\u2019s top flight, but also potential stars.<\/p>

Pio Esposito perfectly fits the description, but as Inter President Beppe Marotta said<\/a> on Tuesday, the Nerazzurri are not considering letting him leave.<\/p>

The Italian striker has effectively become Cristian Chivu\u2019s third option in attack, after stars Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez. The latter is now out of action due to an injury, while Thuram has had highs and lows in his third season at the Meazza, so Esposito has earned considerable game time, playing over 1,600 minutes already.<\/p>

His goal as a substitute in a\u00a03-2 win over Juventus last month<\/a> perfectly summed up his qualities as a centre-forward. Ability to find space inside the box, physical presence and a sense of goal that not many Italian strikers have shown in the last 15 years.<\/p>

Pio Esposito is already helping Inter achieve their targets and the future only looks brighter for him. The future of Thuram is uncertain, and regardless of the Frenchman\u2019s stay at the Meazza, Pio Esposito would surely be a tough contender for a starting spot next season.<\/p>

Should Thuram leave, then Pio Esposito would probably become Lautaro\u2019s main strike partner in 2026-27.<\/p>

Marotta didn\u2019t rule out a transfer for Esposito, but highlighted that it would only happen \u201cvery far into the future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Inter have had a clear tactical shape and mentality over the last decade, and Esposito, who already worked with Chivu in the Inter youth sector, has needed no time to adapt.<\/p>

Arsenal are undoubtedly one of the best teams in Europe, currently, if not the best, but in London, it would be more challenging for Esposito to emerge, while his pathway at Inter seems quite settled and is only going in the right direction for both sides.<\/p>

Inter have already visualised the future of Esposito at the club, and after a very positive debut season with the first team, all seems settled for a spot as one of the team\u2019s stars in the coming years.<\/p>

The same goes for the Italy national team, even if, in this case, the promising striker might be given a big chance even earlier.<\/p>

The Azzurri are due to play Northern Ireland in the World Cup playoff semifinal this month, and based on his current form, Pio has to be considered a genuine candidate for a starting spot.<\/p>

Moise Kean has had highs and lows this season and is now dealing with a fibula injury<\/a>. Mateo Retegui is Italy\u2019s best scorer under Gattuso and has netted 16 times in 26 games for Al-Qadsiah this season. With a classic 4-4-2 system, Pio could partner either Retegui or Kean.<\/p>

The Inter talent made his senior debut under Gattuso last year and has already scored three goals in five international appearances.<\/p>

Esposito\u2019s first steps at a senior level for the club and country have been promising, and the ideal way forward is to continue his development in Italy, possibly establishing himself as the best striker in the country in the coming years. Hopefully, that will become a new starting point to aim even higher.<\/p>
